Dr Casey Ung is a highly experienced ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in glaucoma and paediatric eye care. He began his medical career at Dunedin Hospital in 2000 and commenced ophthalmology training in 2003. After earning his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) in 2009, he completed further subspecialist training in paediatric ophthalmology at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

Since returning to New Zealand in 2010, Dr Ung has worked in both public and private practice, including a locum consultant role in Christchurch. He is deeply committed to education and public health, actively contributing to ophthalmology training and serving as a speaker for Glaucoma NZ, where he helps raise community awareness about eye disease and prevention.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr Ung enjoys staying active through golf, touch rugby, and surfing—often making the most of New Zealand’s beautiful coastline.
